ACOUSTIC PANELS

This is a generic name given to panels that can be used in a variety of situations, either outdoors as in the case of providing additional sound absorption (see left) or indoors to help reduce sound reverberation.

These panels are often more lightweight than those for noise barriers as their main function is for sound absorption. The structures they are mounted on, in this case the concrete parapet would provide the necessary sound transmission loss.
